Ricoh announces limited-edition GR IV 30th Anniversary Edition Kit celebrating its iconic GR camera line

Ricoh has announced the Ricoh GR IV 30th Anniversary Edition Kit to celebrate its GR-series cameras, which launched in 1996 as the pocketable GR1 35 mm film camera, followed by the first digital model in 2005. The limited-edition kit has an MSRP of $1,799.95, with only 6,000 units available worldwide for purchase starting October 21, 2026.
The 30th Anniversary Edition Kit includes the Ricoh GR IV digital camera and several commemorative items, including 16 pin badges, 14 of which celebrate each of the GR models released since 1996. To mark the milestone, a special hot shoe cover and leather finger strap are included, and both are engraved with the words "30th anniversary". A special diamond-cut GN-3 (30th) ring cap inspired by the original GR1 design is fitted around the lens, reflecting light when the lens is retracted.
The key to the popularity of the GR-series cameras is their sharp lenses. The GR IV is fitted with a f/2.8 28 mm lens comprised of multiple aspherical and low-distortion lenses for high sharpness. The lens can digitally zoom to a 50 mm equivalent, and the optional Wide Conversion Lens GW-4 changes the field of view to that of a 21 mm lens.
It is coupled to a 25.74 MP back-illuminated APS-C CMOS sensor, with a maximum setting of ISO 204,800 and a 5-axis image stabilization system that provides up to six stops of correction, notes Ricoh. An optional GF-2 slim flash and a slew of image filters can be used to expand creative photography.
The camera uses hybrid passive and contrast autofocus with face and eye detection. Users can manually set focus to a fixed distance for quicker street photography, and the system powers on in just 0.6 seconds. All settings can be controlled through a myriad of physical buttons and the 3.0-inch touchscreen with 1,037K dots.
