Collectors looking forward to snagging a copy of VOID Interactive’s tactical shooter Ready or Not will have to wait a bit longer, as the developer announced the game’s physical console release in the U.S. has been delayed to September 26, 2025. As of right now, however, physical copies are still set to hit EU store shelves on August 8, 2025, as originally planned.
VOID Interactive broke the news on their official X account, stating that the developers need a bit of extra time to prep the physical edition for consoles. However, no official reason was disclosed for the delay.
The tactical FPS debuted on consoles such as the Xbox Series S|X and PS5 on July 15, 2025, and has been a monumental success. The game sold 1 million copies in the first four days and has now shipped digital copies to 2 million players.
Previously, Ready or Not entered Early Access on Steam on December 17, 2021, and enjoyed a full release on December 13, 2023. Since then, the game has garnered over 11 million lifetime sales across all platforms. According to SteamDB, Ready or Not currently has a ‘Very Positive’ user score of 75.45% with 215,826 positive reviews out of a total 283,824 reviews on Steam.
Ready or Not is currently available as a digital release for consoles in a Standard Edition for $49.99 for the base game and a $69.99 Deluxe Edition, which includes Mission Pass Alpha (Season Pass), Home Invasion DLC, Dark Waters DLC, and a Triple Weapon Pack, which include the 590M 12-gauge Shotgun, 40mm M32A1 Launcher and the MK-V .50AE Pistol.
The game’s debut on consoles received a smidge of criticism from its fan base, as VOID Interactive had to remove certain depictions of child endangerment, nudity, and torture sequences, stepping away from the gritty, unfiltered, yet controversial portrayal the game was previously known and praised for.
The censorship was due to Sony and Microsoft’s certification standards for the PS5 and Xbox Series S|X. However, the update also impacted PC players, leading to a fair bit of review-bombing on Steam, accounting for the majority of the 68,008 negative reviews at the time of writing.
US collectors anticipating the physical copy release will have to wait a bit longer to experience VOID Interactive’s faithful tactical shooter thanks to the announced delay, unless they wish to bring in a copy from one of the many EU-based stores that ship overseas.
