Quality issues: Ultrahuman Ring Pro with 15-day battery life is delayed

The Ultrahuman Ring Pro was funded on Kickstarter in May, and was supposed to start shipping to campaign backers as early as June. June has come and gone without a single buyer receiving a smart ring. In an update to the Kickstarter campaign, Ultrahuman now states that shipping is expected to begin on August 10.
According to the online store, anyone who orders the ring today can expect shipping to begin on August 15. According to Ultrahuman, this delay is due to issues identified during quality control. Ultrahuman therefore intends to be particularly careful during mass production. Every single Ultrahuman Ring Pro is to be inspected before it leaves the factory. This requires additional time. Such delays are not uncommon for startups and crowdfunding projects.
For example, the shipment of the Pebble Round 2 was recently postponed by several months after a manufacturing issue was discovered. Although the Ultrahuman Ring Pro isn’t quite as thin and light as, say, the Oura Ring 5 ($499 on Amazon), it’s said to offer a longer battery life of 15 days, or 45 days with the portable charging case.
The Ultrahuman Ring Pro features a skin temperature sensor, a heart rate sensor (PPG), and a 6-axis motion sensor (IMU). When paired with the accompanying smartphone app, the ring is designed to track sleep, recovery, and stress, as well as calculate a Movement Index and "Ultra Age." While most features can be used without a subscription, cycle tracking and atrial fibrillation detection are only available with a subscription.
