The AMD Ryzen 9 9950X is a very powerful high-end desktop CPU boasting 16 Zen 5 cores and 32 threads. Thanks to Amazon's ongoing Prime Day sale, the beastly CPU can now be purchased with a sizeable 33% discount, bringing its price down to just $434 for Prime members.
The 16-core Ryzen 9 9950X boasts a maximum clock speed of 5.7 GHz, along with 64 MB of L3 cache. Gaming performance is extremely good, and with PBO enabled, the CPU is easily the fastest non-X3D CPU from the house of AMD. Built on TSMC's 4nm N4P node, the CPU also offers a very desirable efficiency curve.
All-rounder desktop CPU
Apart from gaming, productivity performance is also perfectly pleasing, with the Ryzen 9 9950X boasting a roughly 20% improvement in multi-core performance over its predecessor. The Intel Core Ultra 9 285K does have the upper hand in certain workloads, such as video editing, although the 9950X retains its crown in other workloads such as Photoshop, 7Zip decompression, and Blender.
All told, the AMD Ryzen 9 9950X, at its current price, is an excellent purchase for fans of Team Red looking for an upgrade or simply building an all-new AM5-based system for both productivity as well as gaming. As mentioned previously, this deal is only applicable for Prime members, and is valid for a limited time only.
