PineTab: Detachable and 2-in-1 tablet will start shipping next month from US$99.99
PINE64 is now taking pre-orders for the Pinetab, its 10.1-inch and 2-in-1 tablet. As we reported previously, the tablet itself costs US$99.99. PINE64 charges an additional US$20 for the tablet and detachable keyboard bundle. The keyboard magnetically attaches to the PineTab and has not only six rows of backlit keys, but also a reasonably-sized trackpad.
PINE64 has confirmed that the Pinetab will ship with UBPorts with Lomiri GUI pre-installed. However, it stresses that the OS build currently remains a work in progress. Most core functionality works, though. The Pinetab will also ship with a USB Type-A to DC jack charging cable.
PINE64 hopes to ship the Pinetab at the end of July. The company does not currently seem to be selling the keyboard separately. PINE64 also sells the Pinebook Pro and Pinephone among other devices. However, the company states that flight and border restrictions owing to the COVID19 pandemic mean that the PineTab can only be ordered on its own. The specifications for the PineTab are as follows:
