Philips Momentum 5000 27M1F5800 presented with a 4K and 144 Hz panel, plus dual HDMI 2.1 connections
Philips has unveiled the Momentum 5000 27M1F5800, a more premium alternative to the Momentum 5000 27M1F5500P. While the latter has a 2.5K panel, the Momentum 5000 27M1F5800 relies on a 4K panel that also measures 27-inches across. However, the Momentum 5000 27M1F5500P has the edge when it comes to refresh rates, with the Momentum 5000 27M1F5800 peaking at 144 Hz, regardless of the display output used.
Still, Philips equips the Momentum 5000 27M1F5800 with more modern HDMI 2.1 ports, matched by two DisplayPort 1.4 connections. Additionally, the Momentum 5000 27M1F5800 matches its sibling in terms of I/O, with four USB 3.2 Type-A ports, a USB Type-B port and a 3.5 mm audio out. Confusingly, Philips lists the Momentum 5000 27M1F5800 as a DisplayHDR 600 certified monitor, which should mean it achieves 600 cd/m² of brightness. For some reason, the company rates the Momentum 5000 27M1F5800 for up to 450 cd/m², along with 1 ms GtG response times, and at least 98% DCI-P3 colour space coverage.
At launch, Philips will sell the Momentum 5000 27M1F5800 for £629.99, making it £100 more expensive than the Momentum 5000 27M1F5500P. Apparently, the Momentum 5000 27M1F5800 will be available from June; Philips has not informed us of availability in other markets yet.
