Origin PC EVO15-S gaming laptops get the Coffee Lake-H treatment
Origin PC is one of the major providers of custom-built gaming rigs in the NA region. The EVO15-S has been its signature gaming laptop lineup for almost 4 years now and it is based on Clevo’s whitebox notebook chassis, which allow for extended customization. With the release of Intel’s Coffe Lake-H hexa-core CPUs later this month, Origin PC is planning to refresh the EVO15-S series with more powerful options, including hexa-core CPUs, Nvidia Max-Q GPUs and improved LCD displays.
The first major addition to the EVO15-S lineup is the Intel hexa-core i7-8750H CPU clocked at 2.2 GHz (4.1 GHz boost) that comes with the new HM370 express chipset. Users can choose among generic DDR4-2400 of G.Skill Ripjaws DRR4-2400/2666 RAM in 8/16/32 GB configurations. The storage options include combos of up to 1 TB NVMe SSDs and up to 2 TB 5400 RPM HDDs. Display-wise, the latest additions are the 15-inch 144 Hz FHD matte display and the 4K IPS matte display with 94% sRGB color gamut. In order to reduce the thickness of the chassis, Origin PC now includes the possibility to choose an Nvidia GeForce GTX 1070 Max-Q 8 GB GPU.
