Oppo announces compact 8.8-inch tablet with 144 Hz matte OLED display and flagship Snapdragon chip

Oppo has officially announced the Pad Mini Matte Display Edition for India, with the launch scheduled for October 22. We previously reviewed the tablet's Chinese version, covering its display, performance, and battery life.
Oppo is highlighting the matte display and Lavender Purple finish in its Indian campaign. We also covered the company's global release plans for the compact tablet.
The 8.8-inch OLED display has a resolution of 2,520 × 1,680 pixels and a refresh rate of up to 144 Hz. Oppo highlights its matte surface, eye-comfort features, and 2.99 mm bezels. The company also promotes reduced glare and a paper-like writing experience when using a stylus.
The matte finish sets it apart from compact tablets such as the Apple iPad mini (A17 Pro), which has an 8.3-inch LCD with a 60 Hz refresh rate. Lenovo's Legion Tab (Gen 3) also has an 8.8-inch display with a 165 Hz refresh rate, but its glossy panel and gaming-focused design make it better suited to gaming.
Oppo has confirmed that the Pad Mini will use the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 processor and an 8,000 mAh battery in India. The larger Oppo Pad 5 has a MediaTek Dimensity 7300-Ultra chip and a 10,050 mAh battery. This means the Pad Mini has a newer flagship-class processor, but a smaller battery.
