If you've been keeping up with news concerning the OnePlus 5 lately, you likely have noticed a bunch of rumors and leaks regarding the phone's details. From the processor type, to its camera setup, to an interesting naming scheme, information has been surfacing right and left at a pretty regular rate. Even OnePlus itself has joined in on the fun, conducting polls and slowly revealing various aspects of its upcoming flagship.
It's safe to say that, as a result, we've learned quite a bit about the OnePlus 5 in the process. But there are two things about the phone we still haven't learned: How much of what we've heard is true? And—most importantly—when exactly is the phone launching?
Today, both questions have been (mostly) answered in a single tweet.
Taking to Twitter just a few hours ago, OnePlus has revealed a live launch event for the OnePlus 5. There are no vague or cryptic statements, just a definitive announcement. The company asks fans if they "are ready for the OnePlus 5," and invites them to "join its keynote live." The post concludes with an image that explicitly mentions the time and date for the event: 12:00 PM eastern daylight time, June 20.
So, there you have it. On June 20 at midday, the OnePlus 5 will officially debut in a worldwide live event. You can bet that the keynote will finally put an end to the speculation and confirm all of the details that have emerged to date.
June 20 is still two weeks away—an eternity to wait, I know. In the meantime, you can check out the official OnePlus 5 launch site which—aside from featuring a pretty calming ocean background—provides details on the company's upcoming "pop-up events," where fans will have the chance to get the OnePlus 5 early, plus win additional goodies and exclusive company swag.
