NucBox K6: Mini PC with two fans and powerful AMD Ryzen 7 7840HS now available
GMKtec is offering a new mini PC, the compact NucBox K6, with an AMD Ryzen 7 7840HS. This is equipped with eight computing cores that can handle twice as many threads at the same time. A dedicated GPU is lacking, so users have to make do with the Radeon 780M in the absence of an external graphics card.
A strong selling point is the special cooling system, which not only comes with one, but two active fans. These not only keep the processor or APU at the right temperature, but also protect the RAM and SSD from overheating or throttling. Up to 64 GB of DDR5 RAM with a clock frequency of up to 5600 MHz can be installed in two memory slots. Two slots are also available for the installation of two M.2 2280 SSDs, which are connected via PCIe and promise particularly high data transfer rates.
The same is also promised for network connections via Ethernet, namely two Ethernet ports, which are capable of transmitting up to 2.5 Gbit/s and can complement existing network infrastructure with reliable storage capabilities. Fast, wireless data transmission is guaranteed in the form of Wi-Fi 6E, as is the connection of headsets or mice via Bluetooth.
Up to three screens with 4K resolution and 60 Hz can be connected; USB 4 is available as well as HDMI and DisplayPort. The barebone model is now available directly from the manufacturer at a price of just under $579.99. A PC with a 32 GB of DDR5 RAM and an SSD with a capacity of 1 TB costs just under $770.
