With my expectations set very low, I’ll admit the Nubia Pad 5G was better than I expected. It certainly falls on the “great value” side of the budget line. The detachable keyboard certainly helps with the value proposition, assuming that you’d make use of it. If not, you might consider alternative budget Android tablets that focus more on the quality of the screen – although a 1920 x 1200 LCD panel seems to be pretty standard at this price range. That said, the Nubia Pad 5G is an entry-level device that only just makes the grade for use around the house – probably best-suited to pre-teens or seniors with minimal expectations and requirements. So you need to wonder if you’d make the most of 5G – although it could be great for homes without Wi-Fi which just want to use the internet on a single basic device (perhaps with someone else managing the bills). The Nubia Pad 5G might be money well spent for some people but, if you’ll demand more of a tablet, then make sure you weigh more up capable alternatives.

If you're looking for an Android tablet that is equal parts form and function, you'd be hard-pressed to find a better option at this price. The Nubia Pad Pro performs incredibly well, looks beautiful and costs a lot less than an equivalent iPad. I cannot recommend this Android tablet enough, so if you're in the market, pick one up from the official Nubia store now.

Having more options for tech gadgets is always a good thing, and it’s great that the nubia Pad Pro exists. Nubia makes very interesting and high-quality phones, and its first-ever tablet is a stellar device. The powerful hardware is backed up by fast, mostly clean software, and the keyboard case adds a lot of extra functionality. Tablets still occupy a kind of weird space in the tech world, as the vast majority of people only ever use them for online browsing and streaming content, especially since Android tablets all run the same software that’s on our phones. They’re literally just bigger phones. The niche cases for tablets are productivity-focused people and gamers.I think nubia has found a good balance between the two.
