The Nomad N1 is a new power bank that’s now crowdfunding on Kickstarter. The gadget can be reserved in return for a contribution of $169, deliveries are scheduled for May 2026. Potential backers should check out themselves the shipping conditions beforehand and also consider the financial risks that are associated with all crowdfunding campaigns. In the worst case, the entire money can be lost. Shipping to Europe is possible, but additional fees may apply.
With all that being said, this new power bank definitely appears to be relatively thin and it measures 8.27 x 7.87 x 0.63 inches. This means the charging device can be easily stored in the back compartment of a backpack. More importantly, the power bank has a capacity of 20,000mAh and reportedly utilizes solid-state battery cells. These should be less prone to thermal runaway even in the event of severe mechanical damage. An IPX4 certification is advertised, while drops from a height of around 3 ft are not supposed to damage the power bank.
Output of higher voltages is also supported. Specifically, between 100 and 240 volts and a continuous power of 65 watts and a peak power of 103 watts are promoted. Please also note that the power bank sports a NEMA 1 AC outlet, which is used in the US and some other regions around the world. Up to 60 watts can be output via USB Type C, and the power bank itself can be charged with a maximum of 65 watts. Lastly, the Nomad N1 is equipped with a fan for active cooling.
