Nintendo has released firmware version 13.0.0 to the Switch family, including the Switch Lite. Nintendo is yet to start shipping the Switch OLED model, but it should support all the features that version 13.0.0 introduces. It turns out the version 13.0.0 enables two features that SwitchBrew noticed in version 12.0.0.

Specifically, Nintendo has finally added Bluetooth Audio support to the Switch, four years after the console debuted. Pairing is a simple process, although Bluetooth microphones will not work for some reason. Wireless headphones and earbuds with built-in microphones will work though, such as the Sony WF-1000XM4. We have not noticed any audio latency, but Nintendo that this may exist when using headphones and earbuds.

Additionally, Nintendo has added an 'Update Dock' toggle under System/System Settings for the Switch and Switch OLED model. However, you can only update HEG-007, the dock that Nintendo will ship with the Switch OLED model. Switch Docks without a LAN port are not supported.

You can view the full changelog on Nintendo's website, where it also provides guides on managing Bluetooth Audio devices and updating your dock's firmware. Overall, it is good to see Nintendo finally adopt Bluetooth Audio support, even if it has arrived four years late.
