Just yesterday, we reported that the Redmi Note 9 had begun receiving an early MIUI 12 build in China. That's just for China, though, as the phone remains on MIUI 11 everywhere else, ditto its bigger sibling, the Redmi Note 9 Pro.
The Redmi Note 9 Pro—featuring the Snapdragon 720G and not to be confused with the MediaTek Helio G85-powered Redmi Note 9—is currently receiving new updates in multiple regions. The same goes for the Redmi Note 9S, which is essentially a Redmi Note 9 Pro for some regions.
In Indonesia, the Redmi Note 9 Pro is getting the update with build number "MIUI V11.0.3.0.QJZIDXM". The same update is seeding in Russia with the designation "MIUI V11.0.3.0.QJZRUXM", while it's rolling out in Europe with the code "MIUI V11.0.4.0.QJZEUXM". For the Redmi Note 9S, "MIUI V11.0.10.0.QJWMIXM" is seeding globally, while European models receive "MIUI V11.0.4.0.QJWEUXM".
While the Redmi Note 9 Pro remains on MIUI 11, it shouldn't take much longer for the MIUI 12 rollout to begin. Xiaomi recently confirmed that the phone will start getting MIUI 12 around the world next month.
