In addition to developing brand-new and often ultra-sleek EV models, German automakers are diligently working on the electrification of their existing lineup of vehicles. This means that established SUVs like the compact Porsche Macan are also scheduled to receive an all-electric model variant in 2023. This particular model will be based on the shared PPE platform that is being developed in collaboration with Porsche's sister company Audi.
The talented graphic designers at Motor1 have now heavily edited the existing pictures of a camouflaged Porsche Macan prototype in order to illustrate how the production model of the electric SUV from Germany could look like. The images in question can be accessed via this link. The most striking and possibly most controversial design choice of this premium electric SUV could be its split headlights, which contribute to the rather unusual front design of the Porsche Macan.
From a technical point of view, the electric Porsche Macan is expected to feature similar specs as the upcoming Audi Q6 e-tron and Audi A6 e-tron, all of which are based on the aforementioned 800 volts architecture which allows charging with up to 350 kW. In terms of performance, the electric compact SUV could come with quite adequate 470 horsepower, while its air suspension should provide an excellent ride quality. We will report on any additional technical specifications or new images of the electric Porsche Macan as soon as they become available.
