New mini PC with 8-core chipset and RGB lighting is designed for AI workloads

You can now order the AI Pyramid Computing Box (AX8850) via AliExpress or directly from the manufacturer for prices starting at $199. This new mini PC is designed to run AI models locally. That said, the base configuration with 4GB RAM will be fairly limited in this regard. The device is powered by an Axera AX8850 SoC with eight Cortex-A55 CPU cores and an NPU rated at 24 TOPS (Int8). In practice, that should be enough to analyze images locally and without a cloud subscription.
In theory, this mini PC can be used like a regular desktop PC, but that’s probably not the manufacturer’s intention. Either way, there are two HDMI 2.0 ports with 4K60 support for connecting external monitors. Network connections can be established via two Gigabit Ethernet ports, while external storage or other accessories can be hooked up via three USB 3.0 ports. 32GB eMMC storage is integrated, as is a small display that can show info such as the IP address.
The product pictures also show several LEDs. More specifically, the AI Pyramid Computing Box has 48 RGB LEDs along the top edges and on the top. The mini PC is also actively cooled and comes with a pre-installed operating system. Lastly, a speaker and microphone array for voice input are built-in.
