New enterprise access points launch with Wi-Fi 7 and 2.5GbE

Wi-Fi 7 for every setting: D-Link launches DAP-E3620 series for ceiling, wall and outdoor installations

D-Link is expanding its enterprise lineup with the new DAP-E3620 access point series. The three BE3600 Wi-Fi access points bring Wi-Fi 7 with MLO and 4K-QAM to ceiling-mounted, wall-mounted and outdoor installations, with 2.5Gbps PoE connectivity included.

With the new Nuclias DAP-E3620 series, D-Link brings the latest Wi-Fi 7 standard to businesses, hotels, educational institutions and outdoor areas. The new lineup consists of 3 BE3600 dual-band models designed for high-density environments, low latency and flexible mounting options.

The portfolio includes 3 specialized variants. The DAP-E3620 is designed for conventional ceiling mounting in offices, lecture halls and conference rooms. For hotel rooms, student housing and apartment buildings, D-Link offers the compact DAP-E3620W for direct wall mounting. The trio is completed by the weather-resistant DAP-E3620OU, an outdoor access point designed to provide Wi-Fi 7 coverage for outdoor spaces, schoolyards and campuses.

All 3 models support dual-band Wi-Fi 7 with BE3600 speeds. Key features include Multi-Link Operation (MLO), which uses both wireless bands simultaneously, 4K-QAM for higher data rates and Multi-RU for more efficient allocation of wireless resources when many client devices are connected at the same time.

To prevent bottlenecks in the wired backhaul, the access points are designed for use with 2.5Gbps multi-gigabit ports. D-Link also points to its DMS-1250 series PoE switches, which carry data and power over a single network cable. Centralized management and configuration are handled through Nuclias using a hardware controller, a software solution or Unity cloud management. D-Link has not yet announced pricing or specific availability for the DAP-E3620 series in Germany.

Several alternatives are available in the Wi-Fi 7 segment for managed business and prosumer access points with Wi-Fi 7 and 2.5GbE PoE:

The Zyxel NWA130BE is currently a strong value option among business access points. It offers tri-band Wi-Fi 7 (BE11000), Nebula cloud management and a 2.5Gbps PoE port.
Ubiquiti UniFi U7 Pro: A bestseller in the prosumer and SMB market. The access point integrates with the UniFi Controller, features a 2.5GbE uplink and is also available as the U7 Pro Wall for hotel rooms and apartments.
TP-Link Omada EAP773: A direct rival to D-Link's Nuclias system. TP-Link offers a similar combination of cloud management, 2.5GbE connectivity and tri-band Wi-Fi 7 at competitive prices.
Netgear WBE710: Netgear's conventional enterprise option. Like D-Link's models, it is aimed directly at SMBs and the hospitality sector, with comprehensive Insight cloud management.
