Information discovered in the Garmin Connect app might indicate the subscription cost of the upcoming LTE and satellite feature for smartwatches. In a recent report, it has been revealed that four subscription tiers can be found in the code behind the latest version of the brand’s smartphone app.

A recent find in the Garmin Connect app could tell us more about the pricing of the upcoming LTE and satellite feature for smartwatches. Rumors about this function started in May 2025 when it was linked to the Fenix 8 Pro. More recent reports indicated that it would bring support for on-watch tools like LiveTrack location sharing, SOS messages, and voice calls via the free Garmin Messenger app.

Now, four subscription tiers have been spotted in code behind the Garmin Connect app. Unearthed by Gadgets & Wearables in Garmin Connect version 5.16.1, the tiers are listed as follows: inReach Enabled, inReach Essential, inReach Standard and inReach Premium. This seemingly confirms earlier rumors that Garmin device users will be able to manage their inReach subscriptions through the Garmin Connect app, rather than through the online subscription portal.

The Garmin Connect app code is also said to point to in-app subscription set-up and onboarding, entering emergency contact details and test messages. Plus, most importantly, the ability to transfer an LTE subscription from another device was also seen. As a reminder, inReach subscriptions are currently for the brand’s handheld GPS and sat nav devices, enabling various communication features through the Messenger App.

Based on this evidence, it could be that Garmin’s smartwatch LTE function will be directly linked to an inReach subscription. If this is the case, then prices would start from $7.99/£7.99/€9.99 per month for inReach Enabled (complete price list below). However, it is worth noting that a separate report by Garmin Rumors suggests that the LTE subscription service will be known as the “Get Fully Connected” plan, though the source of this rumor is unclear. Here, it is suggested that users will be offered a free trial for 30 days with unlimited data usage. It remains to be seen when Garmin will bring LTE functionality to its smartwatches and how the subscription will be priced.

  • inReach Enabled: $7.99/£7.99/€9.99 per month
  • inReach Essential: $14.99/£14.99/€17.99 per month
  • inReach Standard: $29.99/£29.99/€34.99 per month
  • inReach Premium: $49.99/£49.99/€59.99 per month
