Casio and Hender Scheme have just revealed the release details for their latest G-Shock collaboration - a pared-down, leather-clad DW-5900 with Hender Scheme’s signature natural veg-tan strap. While some info was teased earlier this month, the launch timeline and base module is now official.
The watch will first be available through a web lottery system on May 25, open only to domestic (Japan-based) buyers. After that, it will hit select Hender Scheme retail stores in Japan starting May 30. The brand’s official Instagram page confirmed availability at Sukima Nakameguro, Sukima Osaka, and Sukima Sendai, with each location hosting walk-in sales on launch day.
This is the fourth G-Shock collaboration for Hender Scheme and arguably its most distinct. The team took the normally rugged DW-5900 and softened it into something far more refined. The all-beige resin case and translucent white dial now pair with a handmade leather strap that’s been left unfinished, allowing it to develop a natural patina over time. Branding is pretty minimal, limited to "Hender Scheme" printed on the strap’s underside and on the digital display itself.
The box includes a set of original resin straps too, so wearers can swap between the raw leather and a more familiar G-Shock setup if they choose.
No pricing has been announced yet, and the release appears to be Japan-exclusive for now. However, overseas buyers will be able to purchase through select global stockists starting May 30.
