Artificial intelligence is evolving at breakneck speeds and Google is not exempt from this, soon introducing a much-requested feature in the form of AI-generated playlists to its YouTube Music service. This new feature is set to be called "Ask for music any way you like".
YouTube Music will not be the first to introduce prompt-generated playlists, but it will almost certainly not be the last. Spotify implemented a very similar feature not so long ago. Google hopes "Ask for music any way you like" will eventually be able to deliver more accurate and relevant results than similar features offered by the competition.
While few users have access to the feature for now, their reports indicate it still needs plenty of work, with one user submitting a "Queer hip-hop beats" prompt and getting more club-oriented tracks than hip-hop as a result. Given the feature is still in very early testing, there is still time for the company to work out the kinks and potentially turn this feature into an experience that is not just usable but something listeners can't live without.
There is currently no indication as to when it will start rolling out to wider audiences.
The Alphabet-owned company has been busy introducing all kinds of features as the "You sing it, we play it" one that allows the user to sing the song they want to hear, have YouTube Music detect it for them and play it for Shazam-like experience.
