Starship, the unofficial port for Star Fox 64, is now available to download on PC. The port is by Harbour Masters, the team behind the unofficial PC ports for The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask. The best part? The team may have found a way to circumvent Nintendo's notoriously harsh legal stance on emulators.
Starship doesn't use proprietary Nintendo code and requires fans to have an original N64 copy of Star Fox 64. More specifically, you need the 1.1 (Rev A) USA version. Then, you need to check if your ROM is in the .z64 format. If it's in the .n64 format instead, you can use this free converter online to create a .z64 version.

Next, download the Starship emulator from Github, unzip it, and place your ROM file in the same folder. Run "generate_otr.bat" and wait for it to finish. That's it! You can now run Star Fox 64 on your PC by clicking Starship.exe. While in-game, you can press F1 to open the settings menu and configure graphics options and controller inputs.
