Sales of Google's latest flagship smartphone are set to begin next week, with AT&T announcing a sale date of August 23rd. The 4.7" phone will be available in 16GB and 32GB flavors at AT&T stores and online, going for $199.99 and $249.99 with a two-year agreement.
The announcement also confirmed that Moto Maker, the Moto X's online customization tool, would be exclusive to AT&T. Other major carriers will receive access later in the year, but that definitely takes the shine off the over 2,000 possible customizations.
AT&T will also be including the Motorola Skip free with the smartphone, a clip-on gadget that unlocks the device when placed nearby. The clip utilizes NFC technology to "Skip" the lock screen, and will be included for a limited time with purchases.
