Mi Mix 4 on hold as Xiaomi focuses on 200 W plus charging, under-display camera, and 2K screen for a potential Mi 11 Pro
The noted tech leaker Digital Chat Station has once again offered up an insight into what Xiaomi may have planned for 2021. It wasn’t long ago that the same tipster revealed some of these same features, which could have been headed either for a Xiaomi Mi 11 or even a new Mi Mix smartphone. There is also mention of development with an “internal folding screen” that points toward the “cetus” device we recently reported on.
While an adventurous range such as the Mi Mix line could feature a smartphone that is foldable, or with a slider, or some other interesting innovation, Xiaomi will want to play it a bit safer with the all-important Mi 11 lineup. Digital Chat Station’s social media post suggests this is Xiaomi’s direction, stating that there is not much point waiting for the next Mi Mix device as there are no confirmed plans for its mass production.
While the Mi Mix 4 might be on indefinite hold, Xiaomi is working on smartphone technologies that could appear in a future flagship such as a Mi 11 Pro: under-display front camera, 200 W plus fast charging, 2K screen. Although 200 W fast charging seems to be somewhat optimistic at the moment, Digital Chat Station has a good record in regard to tech tip accuracy, so production of smartphones wielding these high-end features can be expected in 2021.
