Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol. 2 is coming: These Kojima classics are included

As part of Sony’s PlayStation State of Play event, Konami has unveiled the Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol. 2, which will launch on August 27, 2026 for PC/Steam, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 1 and 2 and Xbox Series X/S. Fans of Hideo Kojima’s iconic stealth series can look forward to several games.
To be more exact, the collection includes Metal Gear Solid 4 Guns of the Patriots, Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker, and Metal Gear Ghost Babel. This is the first time that MGS 4 Guns of the Patriots will become playable on other platforms than the PlayStation 3. Until now, the special cell processor in Sony’s console has made PS3 ports quite difficult.
Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker was originally released for the PSP but is included here in the form of the PS3 HD Collection version, which includes the co-op mode. Metal Gear Ghost Babel is the series’ first handheld entry and was released for the Game Boy Color back in 2000.
In addition to these games, several digital extras are included. Buyers of Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol. 2 can look forward to the official soundtrack, digital scripts, an MGS4 database and more. Preorders also include in-game items like camouflage and a uniform.
While MGS 4 Guns of the Patriots covers Solid Snake’s final mission and features a visibly aged protagonist, MGS Peace Walker takes place ten years after Operation Snake Eater from MGS 3. Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol. 2 can be preordered now for $49 and will launch on August 27, 2026.
