With a slim, well thought out design, no notch, top level performance and a great price the Meizu 16s should be a winner – and no doubt it will be for people in the east. But for the western market the software is a little abrasive and Android 9 Pie has a skin that makes it barely recognisable. If you can look past that then the 16s is a really solid choice to import.

I loved using the 16s for the past few weeks. I actually found myself using and reaching for this phone more often than my US$900 Android flagship. The screen is a joy to use and without a notch or punch hole it felt very immersive. The camera is great, and excels in the best lighting conditions, it struggles in low-light. Battery life is amazing and performance is right up there with flagships. Finally, that price tag is ridiculous for what you get in this package. The Meizu 16s is an outstanding alternative to the flagship phone in 2019.

My experience with the Meizu 16s left me feeling more confused than anything else. It seems like Meizu developed the 16s while neglecting its global users. The full-screen display, high-end specs, and good cameras make me think the 16s is for tech enthusiasts. But then I am reminded of the bleak global software situation. Even for the hardcore Meizu fans out there, the 16s is a tough sell considering Meizu’s next smartphone likely isn’t too far off.

In the global mobile phone market, it is weak and weak, and many manufacturers are struggling to survive. It can be seen that Meizu 16S is not disturbed by the rapidly deteriorating market environment. Meizu 16s reflects “the pursuit of love”, then can the world be small and beautiful and gentle? I look forward to giving us the answer after Meizu 16s is fully listed and sold. Meizu 16S is now available on Geekbuying for just at $559.99 using a Coupon Code: MEIZU16S.

In China, the Meizu 16s costs 3,198 yuan (~$476) for the 6GB+128GB model, 3,498 yuan (~$520) for the 8GB+128GB model, and 3,998 yuan (~$595) for the 8GB+256GB model. However, global Meizu 16s pricing and availability are yet to be determined. We do know, however, that the 8GB+256GB model will not be offered globally, which is a bit of a bummer.

The Meizu 16Xs has its shortcomings, but they’re not too bad compared to the 16s. The price tag is smaller and so are some of the features and performance. But not everyone needs the features and performance the more expensive 16s offers. That’s why the Meizu 16Xs is a great budget phone that gives you enough at a price that’s not going to overstretch your budget.

The vibration motor does not know whether it is a linear motor, but it is definitely not the X-axis motor on the 16S. The measured vibration is loose. The corresponding time is long and the amplitude is small. The back also cancels the pressing function. Instead, tap the return and press the HOME button. It can be said that the lack of mBACK’s pressing function Meizu’s comprehensive screen gesture experience has suddenly dropped several grades.

With the continuous development of the mobile game market, the quality of the player’s opponent tour has put forward higher requirements. The Meizu 16s Pro not only has a powerful hardware configuration but also has a Hyper Gaming optimization solution, which is not known to be higher than many friends’ “Turbo”. Meizu 16s Pro is not a game phone, but it can be tied to the mainstream game phones on the market in terms of performance. Although Meizu experienced twists and turns in 2019, Meizu 16s Pro is the most satisfactory answer given by Meizu.

Meizu is a very special existence, no matter the past, the present, or the future. From the wooden headboards and belts carved by J.Wong, to the deep customization UI of the eternal aesthetics, Flyme, it is a gift of Meizu, a small and beautiful manufacturer. We have also witnessed the time and again of this kind of manufacturer with its own volume, the waves of technology circles and design circles that have been set off. Overall, Meizu 16s Pro has an ingenuity, and its upgrades are mostly from the inside, from the inside out, hidden in casual details. In general, Meizu 16s Pro is by no means a perfunctory routine upgrade, just need you to get up and feel.

Qualcomm Snapdragon:
SD 845: High-end SoC for smartphones that was introduced in early 2018 and manufactured in 10 nm LPP FinFET at TSMC. Integrates 4x Kryo 385 cores (Cortex-A75) at up to 2.8 GHz (max) for performance and 4x Kryo 385 at 1.8 GHz (max) for efficiency. Furthermore offers an X20 LTE modem, ac-WiFi and a dual-channel 32-Bit 1866 MHz LPDDR4x memory controller.
SD 855: High-end SoC for smartphones that was introduced in late 2018 and manufactured in 7 nm at TSMC. Integrates one “Prime Core” based on a modified ARM Cortex-A76 architecture clocked at up to 2.84 GHz. Three more performance cores are also based on the A76 but clock up to 2.42 GHz. Furthermore, four energy saving cores are integrated that are based on the ARM Cortex-A55 architecture and clock at up to 1.8 GHz. In addition to the processor cores, the SoC integrates a X24 LTE modem (up to 2 Gigbit download), a new Wi-Fi modem (Wi-Fi 6 ready, 60 GHz mmWave), Hexagon 690 DSP with new Tensor cores for AI processing, a Spectra 380 ISP with an integrated computer vision engine and an integrated LPDDR4x memory controller.
SD 675: Fast mid-range ARM SoC with 8 CPU Kryo 460 cores (two fast 2 GHz ARM Cortex-A76 based cores in a cluster and six power saving ARM Cortex-A55 based cores at 1.6 GHz) and a rather slow Adreno 612 GPU. Manufactured in the 11 nm LPP process at Samsung.
SD 855+: High-end SoC for smartphones that was introduced in 2019 and manufactured in 7 nm at TSMC. Integrates one “Prime Core” based on a modified ARM Cortex-A76 architecture clocked at up to 2.96 GHz. Three more performance cores are also based on the A76 but clock up to 2.42 GHz. It is a small display format for smartphones. You shouldn't be severely defective in vision, and you won't see much detail on the screen and only have a small resolution available. For that, the device should be small and handy, easy to transport.
