MacBook Pro with OLED touchscreen could be lighter, yet more stable

Apple will be unveiling the first-ever touchscreen MacBook Pro tomorrow, October 28, following the more affordable M6-powered 14-inch MacBook Pro that just launched. Ahead of the launch, Mark Gurman has shared some design updates that will come with the new MacBook Pro.
Gurman posted on X that it will be slightly thinner, have slimmer bezels, and will be noticeably lighter. On top of that, Apple has apparently revamped the hinge to make it more stable since it will welcome a lot of touching and poking. Apple is well-known for making precise hinges that feel just stiff enough on a laptop to not wiggle when typing but also open easily with one finger. How Apple maintains that balance with the improved hinge will be interesting to see.
For quite a while, it was believed that the touchscreen OLED MacBook would be called the MacBook Ultra, but it seems like Apple is sticking with the Pro moniker. It will likely come with the M5 Pro or M5 Max processor, have a tandem OLED touchscreen panel, Thunderbolt 5, Wi-Fi 7, and possibly an integrated 5G cellular modem with eSIM support.
The recently released 14-inch MacBook Pro with the M6 starts at $1,999, which is the same as its predecessor. The upcoming touchscreen MacBook Pro will of course be more expensive, but how much more expensive will become clearer in a few hours.
