The GT72 Dominator with GTX 980M will start at $2599 USD

We already know that MSI will be refreshing almost all of its gaming G series models, but users can now finally get their hands on the new configurations including the mouth-watering GT72 Dominator Pro with GTX 980 graphics.

"We've perfectly complemented Intel's newest processor with cutting-edge components that will delight even the most hardcore gamer," says president of MSI Andy Tung. While the design of each model remains identical to the previous generation, there are plenty of internal upgrades including DDR4 support up to 32 GB or 64 GB, "Super Raid 4" via dual M.2 PCIe x4 SSDs in RAID 0, unlocked Core i7 K-class CPUs, and USB 3.1/3.0 Type-C depending on the configuration and model.

The official specifications list for the refreshed GE, GT, GS, and PX models are provided below. For those who are unfamiliar with the lineup, the GT series is MSI's flagship followed by the more affordable GE series. The super-thin GS series competes directly with the likes of the Razer Blade, Asus G501, and Aorus X5, while the PX and PE series are equipped with higher quality displays to appeal to graphic artists and professionals.

We suggest checking out our original reviews on the GT72, GE62/GE72, GS60/GS70, and PE60/PX60 for an overview of the chassis and hardware features of each.
