For under £1,000 the MSI Stealth 15M delivers some very serious performance all wrapped up in a light and compact chassis with a rather fine keyboard. In the negative column, the battery run time is truly abysmal and the screen while fast, is dull and drab. The speaker system meanwhile is merely average, neither a strength nor a weakness. If you regularly use your laptop away from a power supply then this MSI is a non-starter, similarly, if you want to do any work that requires a colourful and colour-accurate display the Stealth 15M is again not for you. On the other hand, if you want a laptop for portability rather than mobility, and want something to run graphics jobs or games fast, then the Stealth 15M could be an affordable answer to your problem.

Ultimately, assuming you can stomach the short battery life, the value of the Stealth 15M hinges a lot on its price. I've seen this thing listed as high as $1,700 from retailers like Walmart, which is simply too much. At that point, you're much better off going for a notebook with a slightly smaller screen like the Alienware X14 and getting very similar performance, or opting for Asus' Zephyrous G14 while also saving a couple hundred bucks in the process. But if you can nab the Stealth for under $1,400, a lot of the system's trade-offs become a lot more palatable. I just wish this version of the Stealth felt more like James Bond and less like Agent Cody Banks.

Featuring an Intel Core i7-12280P CPU, NVIDIA RTX 3060 GPU and a chassis that weighs just under four pounds, MSI’s Stealth 15M offers a great balance of performance and portability. And thanks to its understated design, it’s a great system for people who want to keep a lower profile while gaming away from home. Unfortunately, some of its other components are somewhat mediocre, including its 720p webcam and dim 15.6-inch full HD display. However, the Stealth 15M’s biggest weakness is its battery life which lasted just four hours and 15 minutes on our test – the shortest time we’ve seen on any laptop this year. But if you can overlook its weak longevity and can find one priced at under $1,400, the Stealth 15M could be a decent value for people looking for a thin-and-light all-rounder.

The MSI Stealth 15M is a gaming laptop light enough to be carried around on a regular basis – which is a sound concept. However, that angle is undermined by poor battery life, and the weak colour saturation is difficult to justify even when you consider that the Stealth costs less than some of the biggest names in laptop gaming.
