Reviews for the MSI GT72VR 7RE-433
Gaming machine. MSI's GT72VR 7RE is a powerful 17.3-inch gaming notebook that handles modern games smoothly on the matte Full HD screen. The new Kaby Lake quad-core also leaves a good initial impression. Positive: The noise development is pretty restrained, despite the powerful hardware.

We’ve been impressed with this laptop line before and this is a worthy member of the family. We suspect all the bulk and cooling is a bit overkill for this lower-high-end machine but you can’t just drop down to MSI’s Slim range without dramatically losing performance. At $3400 it’s expensive, but significantly more-affordable than its older brother while remaining very fast indeed. As such we’re recommending it.

Is MSI’s GT72VR 7RE Dominator Pro a worthwhile purchase? Well for around £2100 (at the top end of the pricing spectrum), you can pick up this portable pocket rocket and providing you’re going to make full use of the specifications, it’s certainly worth the money spent!

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 Mobile: Pascal based high-end mobile graphics card based on a cut down GP104 (like the GTX 1080) and GDDR5 graphics memory. Successor to the GTX 980M with a 10 Watts higher TDP. Similar to the desktop GTX 1070 performance wise, but with more shaders and lower clock speeds.
With these GPUs you are able to play modern and demanding games fluently at medium detail settings and HD resolution.

i7-7700HQ: Quad-core notebook processor based on the Kaby Lake architecture. Besides four CPU cores (including Hyper Threading), the chips also integrates the HD Graphics 630 GPU and is manufactured in an improved 14 nm process.» Further information can be found in our Comparison of Mobile Processsors.
17.30": This display size is a standard format for desktop replacements (DTR). The DTR laptops are heavier to carry, need more power, but texts are easy to read and high resolutions are no problem. DTR are mainly intended for stationary desk use, where weight and energy hunger don't matter. In return, you enjoy the advantages of high resolutions (more details, better legibility).» To find out how fine a display is, see our DPI List.
3.83 kg:
Only a few laptops are in this weight class because the mobility is rather limited due to the high weight.
MSI: Micro-Star International (MSI) was founded in 1986 in Taiwan. MSI is especially known as a manufacturer of motherboards and graphics cards for PCs, but also offers computer accessories, complete systems, motherboards, graphics cards, laptops, desktop PCs, monitors and other components. However, the Microstar brand name in Germany belongs to the Medion company. MSI is known for its gaming products and has developed a wide range of gaming laptops and desktop PCs. The company is also active in workstations, servers and industrial automation. MSI has offices in North America, Europe, Asia and Australia.
86.38%: This is an above-average rating. Nevertheless, it should not be forgotten that about one fifth of all tested models receive a better rating.
