The MSI Crosshair 16 HX D14V (2024) is a solid, if quite expensive gaming laptop. Its 14700HX and RTX 4060 power core offer decent 1080p and 1440p, although feel underpowered relative to the fantastic 16-inch QHD+ 240Hz panel. The ports here are good, as is battery life, although you can get a more powerful package for a similar price. For instance, the HP Omen 17 (2024) ups the screen size by an inch and utilises an RTX 4070 while having the same asking price, although makes a sacrifice by offering a Full HD panel and while the Gigabyte Aorus 17H pushes further towards the £2000 mark, it offers an RTX 4080 and beefier performance. The MSI Crosshair 16 HX AI is a highly portable workstation. While it's a little on the slower side when it comes to gaming out of the box, it really leans into the AI nomenclature. Rendering and image generation workloads is where this laptop does best, with some low-res gaming chops that leave room for Nvidia's Tensor Cores to work their magic. The supporting components could be on the speedier side, but as a work laptop with some gaming capabilities you could do a lot worse for the price.

MSI: Micro-Star International (MSI) was founded in 1986 in Taiwan. MSI is especially known as a manufacturer of motherboards and graphics cards for PCs, but also offers computer accessories, complete systems, motherboards, graphics cards, laptops, desktop PCs, monitors and other components. However, the Microstar brand name in Germany belongs to the Medion company. MSI is known for its gaming products and has developed a wide range of gaming laptops and desktop PCs. The company is also active in workstations, servers and industrial automation. MSI has offices in North America, Europe, Asia and Australia.

With these GPUs you are able to play modern and demanding games fluently at medium detail settings and HD resolution.

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 Laptop GPU: High-end graphics card for laptops based on the Ada Lovelace architecture. Offers 8 GB GDDR6 (128 Bit) and is configurable with a TGP of 35 - 115W (+ Dynamic Boost). 

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5060 Laptop: Mobile mid-range graphics card from the Blackwell family based on the GB206 chip with 3328 shaders and 8 GB GDDR7 graphics memory (128 bit).

These graphics cards are able to play the latest and most demanding games in high resolutions and full detail settings with enabled Anti-Aliasing.

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 Laptop: An upcoming graphics card from the Blackwell family for laptops, which Team Green will most likely present at CES 2025. Considering that the 4070 laptop has 4,608 unified shaders (CUDA cores), the 5070 will most likely have well over 5,000 shaders.
