Measuring 20.3 mm (0.8 in) thick and weighing 1.86 kg (4.10 lb), the KDE Slimbook VII features an aluminium chassis with an understated design. It includes a backlit keyboard with a number pad, a multitouch trackpad, and quad speakers. Beyond its build, the laptop aims to stand out with solid performance.
To achieve this, Slimbook has equipped the device with an AMD Ryzen AI 9 365 processor, which boasts 10 cores, 20 threads, and boost frequencies of up to 5.0 GHz. The integrated Radeon 880M is at least powerful enough for older or less demanding games. The notebook supports up to 16 TB of storage via two PCIe 4.0 M.2 SSDs, and up to 128 GB of DDR5-5600 memory. The built-in 16-inch IPS display delivers a 16:10 aspect ratio, a resolution of 2,560 x 1,600 pixels, and a 165 Hz refresh rate. The company claims a peak brightness of 400 nits and full sRGB coverage.
Thanks to its 80 Wh battery and highly efficient Ryzen chip, the KDE Slimbook VII is rated for up to 12 hours of use on a single charge. It ships with KDE Neon – a Linux-based operating system designed with an approachable interface, even for Linux beginners. Connectivity options include two USB-C ports that support 10 Gbit/s transfer speeds and 100-watt charging, alongside two USB-A ports (5 Gbit/s), an HDMI output, Wi-Fi 6, and Bluetooth 5.2.
