The Legion Y90 will be Lenovo's freshly-renamed Android gaming flagship for 2022. Now, the OEM has hyped this device again, this time with a shot of its rear panel. It hints at an even bigger RGB logo than that of its predecessor, inviting speculation that it may move away from that phone's fragile build.

Lenovo has chosen a new and snappier name - Legion Y90 - for its next-gen Android gaming flagship smartphone. On the other hand, this device is also slated to launch with the exact same display as the 2021 Phone Duel 2, inviting speculation that it is to be not much more than a refresh with a newer Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor.

Lenovo's current top-end gaming smartphone had one of the most innovative and unique builds of the year, integrating a landscape pop-up selfie camera and active cooling visible through its rear panel alongside its RGB logo. Now, the OEM has revealed for the first time that the Legion Y90 will definitely inherit the latter.

Furthermore, its stylized light-up rear-mounted 'Y' already gives the impression of being larger and more centered compared to that of the Duel 2. Then again, it is shown in a way that leaves anything that might accompany it on the back of this newer phone in the shadows for now.

Nevertheless, it is possible that it may again be surrounded by physical spinning fans, as Lenovo has hyped the Y90 as a "double-engine air-cooled gaming phone". It will now be interesting to see if the OEM has solved the resulting durability problems in the upcoming Legion phone.
