Lenovo product manager predicts early 2026 release date for Panther Lake-H; X leaker suggests otherwise
We got our first look at Intel's Arrow Lake-H CPU, the Core Ultra 9 285H, on Geekbench today. It is slated to launch at CES 2025 alongside Arrow Lake-HX and refreshed Raptor Lake CPUs. Its successor, Panther Lake (Core Ultra 300) is also tipped to launch at the same time next year.
The information comes from a Lenovo product manager (via ITHome, @harukaze5719 on X). However, X user @SquashBionic, who has accurately leaked Intel-related material earlier, says Panther Lake could get a paper launch earlier in the year. That doesn't seem entirely implausible, and Intel could launch Panther Lake around the same time revealed Lunar Lake.
SquashBionic's statement sits in line with Intel CEO Pat Gelsinger's promises of a Panther Lake launch in 2025. Given a Panther Lake chip has already powered on, mass production and an eventual launch shouldn't be too far off. Or, Intel could reveal a part of the Panther Lake lineup in 2025 and the rest in 2026. So far, we know of at least five Panther Lake SKUs, with the top-spec model capped at 45 Watts.
The ITHome report adds Panther Lake, unlike Lunar Lake, will not come with on-package memory. However, there is an 'exception' that isn't Panther Lake-U, meaning at least one Panther Lake-branded CPU will come with non-upgradable RAM. This sentiment is echoed by supply chain analyst Ming-Chi Kuo in a recent Medium post. Apparently, OEMs weren't to thrilled about memory restrictions, and Intel didn't have much control over DRAM prices.
