Yesterday at IFA 2012 in Berlin, Lenovo announced its expansion of the IdeaTab line with three new models – the S2110, A2107, and A2109. All three models operate on the Google Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS) platform and Lenovo markets these as “smarter, slimmer tablet designs with a variety of multimedia options at attractive price points”.
IdeaTab S2110
The IdeaTab S2110 measures 8.69 millimeters (0.34 inches) thick and weighs 580 grams (1.28 pounds). Lenovo describes the tablet as a “premium entertainment tablet” and “one of the thinnest and lightest 10-inch tablets available today”. The S2110 is equipped with a 10-point multi-touch IPS display, a 5-megapixel rear-facing camera with LED flash, 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera, 1 GB of memory, Wi-Fi support, and a micro-HDMI port. An optional detachable keyboard serves as a dock, extends battery life up to 20 hours, and includes an SD card reader and USB ports.
IdeaTab A2109
The IdeaTab A2109 is a self-proclaimed “optimized entertainment tablet”. It features a four-point 9-inch capacitive touchscreen display using a 1280x800 resolution. This is paired with a quad-core Nvidia Tegra 3. The 570-gram (1.26-inch) tablet also includes a 1.3-megapixel and 3-megapixel front- and rear-facing cameras respectively, dual microphones, GPS support, up to 16 GB of storage, a micro-USB port, and microSD card support for cards up to 32 GB.
IdeaTab A2107
The IdeaTab A2107 is a 7-inch tablet designed for “on-the-go reading, Web browsing, and email”. The tablet includes standard tablet features such as two speakers, a microSD card slot, and Bluetooth 4.0 support. It also includes an additional built-in FM radio. The display uses a 720p HD resolution and the tablet is advertised as having a battery life of up to ten hours. This tablet comes in both Wi-Fi and 3G versions.
Pricing and Availability
Both the IdeaTab A2109 and S2110 are currently available at $299 and $399 respectively. Lenovo states that the IdeaTab A2107 will be available later this year.
