Lenovo has officially unveiled a new desktop workstation PC that supports a massive amount of memory and storage as well as two powerful RTX Pro 6000 graphics cards with 96GB GDDR7 VRAM each. Rather unsurprisingly, the ThinkStation P5 Gen 2 will be anything but cheap and is slated to hit the market this April.

Although RAM and storage prices are at all-time highs, many professional users need lots of memory for various AI-heavy use cases these days. Consequently, Lenovo has just announced the new ThinkStation P5 Gen 2, which is a high-end workstation with very powerful hardware.

For instance, Lenovo's new desktop computer is powered by processors from the Intel Xeon 600 family, which sport up to 48 cores and clock speeds of up to 4.9GHz. These capable CPUs can be paired with up to two Nvidia RTX Pro 6000 Blackwell Max-Q graphics cards with a whopping 96GB ECC GDDR7 VRAM. Thanks to a total of eight RAM slots that support up to 128GB DDR5 each, the Lenovo ThinkStation P5 can also be equipped with up to 1TB of total memory that runs at up to 6400MT/s.

Demanding users who require a massive amount of local storage can further install up to four M.2 NVMe SSDs for a total of 16TB of flash storage. Additionally, the ThinkStation P5 Gen 2 has enough space to accommodate three 3.5-inch hard drives, which can add another 36TB of capacity. In order to power all these components, Lenovo opts for a 750W or 1000W PSU, depending on the configuration.

In terms of connectivity, the Lenovo workstation has four USB-C 3.2 ports, but only one of those features a full bandwidth of up to 20Gbps, while the other five max out at 10Gbps. There also are six USB-A ports, two 3.5mm jacks and Gigabit Ethernet. Alternatively, the ThinkStation P5 can communicate via WiFi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4. Last but not least, the desktop PC can run Windows 11 Pro, Ubuntu Linux or Red Hat Enterprise Linux. Lenovo has yet to reveal full pricing information for the US, but the company has already confirmed that the ThinkStation P5 Gen 2 will launch in select markets in April 2026.
