Reviews for the Lenovo ThinkPad P1 G4-20Y4S0KS00

89.8% Lenovo ThinkPad P1 G4 laptop review: Success with Vapor-Chamber & GeForce RTX 3070 | Notebookcheck
We have already tested the base model of the ThinkPad P1 G4, and now we have the second test: The workstation offshoot of the Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Extreme G4 achieves a much better CPU performance with a drilled-out cooling system. At the same time, we test the 16-inch WQUXGA LCD in 16:10 format.
80% Lenovo ThinkPad P1 Gen 4 review: Near-perfect workstation, but there’s one flaw
Source: Laptop Mag English
The ThinkPad P1 Gen 4 would be perfect if it wasn’t for its unimpressive battery life. However, I’m willing to overlook that glaring flaw because the Lenovo workstation kicked ass on our performance benchmarks, showing off its processing-power prowess, and its blisteringly fast video transcoding and file transfer capabilities. It also has decent graphics performance, a bright, eye-catching 4K display, and fantastic speakers. As long as you plan to keep the ThinkPad P1 stationed on a desk while it remains tethered to an outlet, its battery life isn’t a problem. However, if you have dreams of frolicking with this Lenovo laptop while traveling the world, sorry to dash your hopes, but it will be dead for the majority of the journey. If you can’t get past the 6-hour battery life, consider the ThinkPad P1 Gen 4’s cousin: the ThinkPad P15 Gen 2. It offers nearly 11 hours of battery life. However, you’ll be taking a tiny hit on performance. Plus, you’ll have to stomach slower video transcoding and file-transfer rates.

Lenovo ThinkPad P1 Gen 4 Review
Source: Mobile Tech Review English
The Lenovo ThinkPad P1 Gen 4 is almost identical to the ThinkPad X1 Extreme Gen 4. It’s a slim & light mobile workstation with Intel Core i7, i9 or Xeon CPUs and up to NVIDIA RTX A5000 / RTX 3080 16GB graphics. Thanks to our video’s sponsor- Trend Micro's Premium Security Suite offers complete device and identity protection for up to 10 devices. With more powerful GPU options, the ThinkPad P1 has vapor chamber cooling, allowing for more performance than average from a 1.8kg / 4 lb. portable PC. It has a 16” 16:10 aspect ratio display in QHD or 4K resolution with wide gamut for content creation. Wi-Fi 6E, a 1080p webcam and a fingerprint scanner are standard. It has 2 RAM slots for upgradability and optional 4G and 5G WWAN on some models.

80% Lenovo ThinkPad P1 Gen 4
Source: PC Mag English
The ThinkPad P1 Gen 4 has the USB-A and HDMI ports that the Dell Precision 5560 restricts to a dongle, and it beats up the Dell and takes its lunch money in most of our performance benchmarks. Unless you crave an OLED rather than IPS display, it's an easy pick as our new Editors' Choice winner among truly portable workstations.

16.00":

15-inch display variants are the standard and are used for more than half of all laptops.

The reason for the popularity of mid-sized displays is that this size is reasonably easy on the eyes, often allows high resolutions and thus offers rich details on the screen, yet does not consume too much power and the devices can still be reasonably compact - simply the standard compromise.

Lenovo: Lenovo ("Le" from English legend, novo (Latin) for new) was founded in 1984 as a Chinese computer trading company. As of 2004, the company was the largest laptop manufacturer in China and, after acquiring IBM's PC division in 2005, the fourth largest in the world. In addition to desktops and notebooks, the company manufactures monitors, projectors, servers, etc, and specializes in developing, manufacturing and marketing consumer electronics, personal computers, software, enterprise solutions and related services.

In 2016, the company ranked first in the world in computer sales. It still held it in 2023 with about 23% global market share. Important product lines are Thinkpad, Legion and Ideapad.

In 2011, it acquired a majority stake in Medion AG, a European computer hardware manufacturer. In 2014, Motorola Mobility was purchased, which gave Lenovo a boost in the smartphone market.

82.45%: This rating is slightly above average, there are somewhat more devices with worse ratings. However, clear purchase recommendations look different.
