Lenovo Ideapad Y700 15ISK 80NW
The Y700 gaming laptop series continues the sophisticated and solid design, which is almost the same as its predecessor. The build quality has improved though with tougher edges and corners and larger speaker grills. In this version, it continues to keep the iconic red-tinted, island-style keyboard with a size of 34 x 10.2 cm. The key travel is soft and good with a nice bounce. Putting the design aside, this laptop is powered by Intel Core i7 Skylake processor, which will enhance battery life and performance. All in all, it is really promising apart from little disappointment on its mid-range Nvidia GTX 960M graphic card. However, the frame rate should normally lie between 950M to 970M in real-world games so that it is believed to be decent for most of the games like The Phantom Pain or Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. Besides, it features 16 GB of RAM and a number of display configurations, either FHD (1920 x 1080) or UHD (3840 x 1260) touch panel support. It also comes with two JBL speakers with a subwoofer and the optional Intel RealSense 3D camera technology, which certainly brings the thrill back to all gamers.Specifications

A familiar refresh. The jump from the Y50 to the 15.6-inch Y700 brings about a few important upgrades, but there are still some major holes in terms of features and accessibility that have yet to be implemented.

With the next generation of NVIDIA graphics processors hitting the market and finding their way into laptops without the significant downgrade they’d usually get, we’re going to be seeing a lot of powerful gaming laptops available soon. In other words, now is not the time to invest heavily in a gaming laptop running older hardware. If you want a serious gaming laptop, hold your horses for a few months and then see what the market has to offer. At that point, you may be able to get the Ideapad Y700 at a lower price, or perhaps Lenovo will have a new model featuring NVIDIA’s 10-series GPUs.

The 15-inch Lenovo Ideapad Y700 Touch can't quite compete with either in terms of gaming performance, but it beats the MSI GE72 6QD Apache Pro and even Lenovo's own Y700-17 on value and compensates for what it lacks with a touch screen and top-notch battery life. If you're drop-dead serious about squeezing the most you can from today's biggest games without squeezing your bank account dry, you'd be better off going with a GTX 980M–equipped model like the Acer or the pricier MSI GT72 Dominator Pro G-1438. But if you consider the touch screen and almost-as-good gaming for most of a full day off-plug viable substitutes, the Y700 Touch is worth a look.

Lenovo is positioning the Y700 as a multimedia laptop, more than a gaming machine and for that, we feel it delivers very well. It costs Rs. 99,990 and if you buy it from the company's store, you'll be able to pick up some optional gaming accessories at a discount. It's expensive but then again, which true gaming laptop isn't? Unlike others, the Y700 also boasts of unique functionality like Intel's RealSense camera setup, which can be used for security and some leisure apps. Overall system and gaming performance is good, with a comfortable keyboard and very good set of speakers that deliver an immersive audio experience. Lenovo's software suite is also well designed and functional.

When we reviewed the IdeaPad Y700’s predecessor in 2014, the Y50 Touch, we knocked it for its lackluster display and slow hard drive. Lenovo made it impossible for us to make the same complaints twice this time around; the 15.6-inch Y700 now has a positively beautiful IPS display, and it includes a speedy 128GB SSD for the OS in addition to a 1TB hard drive for storage.

"Budget" and "gaming laptop" are rarely said in the same sentence. Lenovo is one of the few companies to offer a relatively affordable true powerhouse gaming laptop in this price range. Some call them entry level gamers, but they're really more powerful than that since they can run most recent games at 1920 x 1080 in a mix of medium and high settings with good frame rates.

As far as performance goes, the laptop is top notch and you'll find it handles your gameplay well. In fact, the laptop's downside doesn't come from its design or performance, but rather its hefty, bulky design. This is by no means a lightweight laptop and it is chunky. For gamers who play at the desk and rarely find reason to pick up their machine, this won't be an issue. If you enjoy portability, though, the Y700 might prove too cumbersome.

Lenovo Ideapad Y700 17ISK 80Q0
Lenovo has jumped from Y70-series to launch Y700-series gaming laptops. The Y700 17ISK is almost indifferent with its sibling - the Y700 15ISK. It is obvious to have a larger 17-inch screen size. The build design is similarly more solid with the tighter fitting pieces and thicker 27.9 mm speaker grills. It strengthens the durability and quality compared to 25.9 mm on its predecessor. This gaming laptop continues to inherit the island-style backlit keyboard with two-level blood-red lighting in the same layout and touch feeling. However, it still lacks dedicated auxiliary or macro keys although the space has increased largely. The is only one display configuration available, which is 1920 x 1080 without touchscreen support. When turning down the light, it is unusual to notice the backlight bleeding in the bottom corners. On the other hand, the brightness and color is much richer and vibrant. In addition, it is equipped with compelling JBL speakers, an speedy Intel Core i7 Skylake processor and an Nvidia 960M graphics. Although the GPU is not the most powerful one, it is still capable to run games smoothly provided that the settings are not pushed to the maximum level. In conclusion, it is a decent gaming machine with great expectation and lower entry price.Specifications

Lenovo achieves an excellent balance, making just the right sacrifices to hit a reasonable price point. These compromises, including the mushy keyboard, single piece trackpad, and mid-range GPU, will keep the hardcore gaming set away. For more mainstream users, the Y700 blows the doors off of other thin-and-light devices like the Surface Book in terms of functionality and price. A Core i7 Surface Book with a less powerful Nvidia GeForce GPU (940M equivalent) costs about three times as much as the Y700 we reviewed.

The IdeaPad Y700 is an admirable improvement over the well-liked Y70. It has all the bells and whistles to deliver the great multimedia experience that you’d expect from a premium big-screened notebook. We were thoroughly impressed by the Y700’s 17.3-inch FHD display, which is exceptionally bright with excellent contrast. Twin JBL speakers and a subwoofer help complete the pleasant multimedia experience.

The Y700 offers the same sturdy, premium design with slight improvements around the edges, despite the ~200 g increase in weight and the slight thickness bump. They are hardly noticeable, so don’t worry about that. We are still giving it an A+ in the design department. Also, the palm rest area is now slightly bigger and the touchpad has received a small update, which now eliminates the so-called annoying wobbling effect. Much better than before, although the mouse clicks feel a bit stiff. Getting used to it just takes time.On the hardware front, things haven’t changed a lot. We still have the GTX 960M GPU on board, but this time paired with the newer Skylake Core i7-6700HQ CPU, DDR4-2133 RAM and a slightly bigger battery. Speaking of, the latter resulted in a huge battery life increase, but we suspect that the new power saving features of the Skylake CPU are mostly to blame. And finally, Lenovo has added an M.2 SATA SSD slot for extra storage space. A long-awaited upgrade, ever since the first Y50 came out.

Lenovo IdeaPad Y700-17ISK-80Q00068GE
This laptop is where budget meets gaming laptops. It isn't often said that a good budget laptop can be a good gaming laptop, but the new Lenovo IdeaPad is going to change that. This 17-inch powerhouse is capable of playing any game on any setting and still has performance reserves. It is a very powerful computer with Intel i7 quad-core processor and will never underperform. 16 GB of RAM also helps in this aspect. The JBL sound system is also very immersive. It brings sounds that are more like home theatre systems'. The design of the laptop is also very cutting edge because it looks and feels amazing. The speakers are on the top corners and wrapped around the back and the screen is raised. The laptop with skinny look design is slightly heavier at 3.4 kg. The laptop has a built in 720p webcam, 1 TB of storage, a keyboard with beautiful red backlight, and an Nvidia GTX 960M 4 GB graphics card. With the red and black scheme, the devices looks like a very high-end gaming laptop. The battery life is okay compared to other options out there, but most gaming laptops are not made to be away from power cords for too long anyway. All in all, this is one of the best gaming laptops out there, which are available for budget buys and the metal casing gives it a look and feel of a very high-end computer.Specifications

Well, the Y700 AMD version can’t match current competition in terms of DX11 gaming performance. The GTX 960M + Intel CPU combination is way more powerful for DX11 than this AMD system. The laptop itself is relatively convincing with good build quality and outer lid (better than the VN7-592G and 7559), very good speakers outperforming the competition by far, good looks, high contrast and brightness IPS display, low temps and low noise, relatively – again, better than the VN7-592G.

The Lenovo Y700 (17″) inherits most of the cool features the 15-inch models offers, rights some wrongs but fails to deliver in some areas. The all-aluminum build is just great, feels solid, sturdy and maybe a bit heavy, but nothing too alarming. In fact, arguably the best in class 17-inch laptop in terms of design with only a few things missing like the USB-C connector and the absence of a decent touchpad performance. Since the Y50, the touchpad design and usability haven’t changed as much.

I really wish Lenovo had provided an option for Nvidia graphics on the 14-inch Y700, because even if it pushed the $700 price tag up by $100, Lenovo's entry-level gaming notebook would be a really sweet deal. As it stands, the Y700 offers a pretty competent and affordable step into mobile gaming, but it's not as powerful as Nvidia 960M-equipped systems like the $800 Dell Inspiron 15 7000 and the $999 Asus ROG GL552.

Performance is most important to gamers, and the Y700 Touch did great in all of our tests. The Intel Core i7-6700HQ quad core processor, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960M dedicated graphics, and 16GB of DDR4 memory do a really great job. I was able to play all of my favorite games, and quite well. Modern games like Star Wars Battlefront, GTA V, and Paragon played just fine. Not only is this performance great for gaming, but you have a pretty powerful system for multimedia, photo and video editing, and more! It was nice having a powerful machine on the go that did not slow me down if I had too many Chrome tabs open or I wanted to edit a few photos in Photoshop.

Lenovo IdeaPad Y700-17ISK 80Q0002EGE
It is apparent at first glance that the Y700 is built for gaming. Its menacing built consists of a 17.3" Full HD IPS AntiGlare (1920 x 1080 pixels) with integrated camera and a frame largely made of aluminium. This machine weighs a hefty 3.5 kg, which is expected considering the chunkiness of the machine. Performance-wise, it is powered by a 6th Generation Intel i7 quad core processor with up to 16 GB DDR4 RAM. Rich graphics are rendered by the NVIDIA GTX 960M 4GB GDDR5. The connectivity is surprisingly meager for a machine of this built with three USB ports (two USB 3.0 ports) and a single video output. Quality sound is delivered by 2 JBL Speakers with 3.0 W Subwoofer and Dolby Home Theater. Its red-backlit keyboard provides light for gamers in low-lit conditions and makes the appearance of the Y700 even more imposing. Networking is supported by both WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity. Lenovo also offers a range of accessories to further enhance the gaming experience. A 4-Cell 60 Wh battery provides the Y700 with the required battery life for extended mobile gaming use. In the upshot, the IdeaPad Y700 stands out as a prime contender for a solid gaming device.Specifications

Lenovo Y700 and ASUS ROG GL752 are one of the best budget gaming laptops if you don’t mind the bigger size or if you are actually after a larger device that can deliver a good gaming experience. The former offers better build quality thanks to the use of aluminum rather plastic which is to be found in ASUS ROG GL752. Both notebooks offer very good displays, and the lack of PWM across all brightness levels in the former reduces the harmful effects on your eyesight. If you plan on using the latter at maximum brightness, you will thus avoid PWM.

Lenovo IdeaPad Y700-15ISK-80NV010NMH
The Lenovo IdeaPad Y700-15ISK-80NV010NMH is a high-performance gaming laptop that looks nice and has a more affordable price tag. However, a user shall not expect to run games on Ultra settings with this laptop. Its combination of defined corners, brushed aluminum lid, and dark rubberized palm rests is sleek without appearing overly eccentric. All this metal does attract plenty of fingerprints, which means that maintaining a clean look isn't always easy. This design philosophy has returned on the new Y700 with a few notable changes. The Y700 is built more tightly around the edges and corners where gaps are more likely to occur. Because of this, the speaker grilles have been redesigned and are now larger. The Lenovo IdeaPad Y700 (15) laptop brings games, movies, and images to life through its vibrant frameless Full HD (1,920 x 1,080) display. As well as being anti-glare, the screen boasts the IPS technology for truly vivid colors and nearly 180° of wide-angle viewing. The display produces very good colors. Even in direct sunlight, the screen is still viewable, but just barely. The Y700 has the kind of solid specifications one would typically expect from a premium gaming laptop. CPU duties are handled by Intel's Core i7-6700HQ that runs at 2.6 GHz and can turbo up to 3.5 GHz. Along with this, a user gets 16 GB of DDR4 RAM (2 x 8 GB at 2,133 MHz) and a Nvidia GeForce GTX 960M GPU with 4 GB of GDDR5 VRAM. There's plenty of storage in the Y700 by the way from its 1 TB 5400 RPM hard drive. It also has a 128 GB SSD to quickly load games, but unfortunately, it's too small to be useful for installing many games. This is because the operating system takes up a lot of the precious gigabytes. Additionally, the hard drive has slow load time which is too bad, because it comes with a hard drive running on 5400 RPM instead of the faster 7200 RPM, which could result in decreased gaming performance. Audio is another strong suit of the Y700. The 2.1 speaker setup, along with the Dolby audio enhancement leaves with a very enjoyable experience. The speakers can get quite loud but we recommend keeping the audio level to about 70 percent or quality will dip. Audio separation in games is very good and a user can get a decently good surround effect. The Y700 ships with a 64-bit edition of Windows 10 Home. A user also gets a bunch of pre-installed apps such as McAfee Livesafe and some from the Windows Store including Word, Excel, and Powerpoint mobile editions, Photoshop Express and Twitter. Port selection is quite limited on the Y700. Users have only three USB ports to work with and only one video-out option via HDMI. WLAN is provided by an Intel 8260 dual-band (2x2) M.2 module with 802.11ac connectivity, WiDi, and integrated Bluetooth 4.2. Hands-on article by Jagadisa RajarathnamSpecifications

Priced at Rs.105,890, the Lenovo Y700 offers you a good IPS display, excellent day-to-day task and multimedia performance, acceptable entry-level gaming results and a solid as well as stylish build. If you are under a tight budget, the Lenovo Y700 will not disappoint you, if you are willing to compromise on its moderate battery life. Serious gamers can give this one a skip and consider the MSI GE62VR 6RF that is comparatively expensive, but features a Pascal based NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 GPU.

Lenovo: Lenovo ( "Le" as in the English word legend and "novo" (Latin) for new) was founded in 1984 as a Chinese computer trading company. From 2004, the company has been the largest laptop manufacturer in China and got the fourth largest manufacturer worldwide after the acquisition of IBM's PC division in 2005. In addition to desktops and notebooks, the company also produces monitors, projectors, servers, etc.
In 2011, Lenovo acquired the majority of Medion AG, a European computer hardware manufacturer. In 2014, Lenovo took over Motorola Mobility, which gave them a boost in the smartphone market.
From 2014 to 2016 Lenovo's market share in the global notebook market was 20-21%, ranking second behind HP. However, the distance decreased gradually. In the smartphone market, Lenovo did not belong to the Top 5 global manufacturers in 2016.
Modern games should be playable with these graphics cards at low settings and resolutions. Casual gamers may be happy with these cards.
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960M: Upper mid-range graphics card of the GeForce GTX 900M series.
AMD Radeon R9 M385X: Fast mid-range graphics card with 14 compute shaders.
AMD Radeon R9 M375: GCN based mid-range graphics card with DirectX 12 support and a 128-bit DDR3 memory controller.

Intel Core i7: The Intel Core i7 for laptops is based on the LG1156 Core i5/i7 CPU for desktops. The base clock speed of the CPUs is relatively low, but because of a huge Turbo mode, the cores can dynamically overclock to up to 3.2 GHz (920XM). Therefore, the CPU can be as fast as high clocked dual-core CPUs (using single threaded applications) but still offer the advantage of 4 cores. Because of the large TDP of 45 W / 55 W, the CPU is only intended for large laptops.
6700HQ: Skylake-based quad-core processor for notebooks. Offers an integrated HD Graphics 530 GPU and is manufactured in 14 nm.
Intel Core i5:
6300HQ: Skylake-based quad-core processor for notebooks. Offers an integrated HD Graphics 530 GPU and is manufactured in 14 nm.
AMD Carrizo:
FX-8800P: Top Carrizo APU of 2015 containing two "Excavator" CPU modules (with 4 integer and 2 FP cores counted as 4 compute cores). Performance can differ greatly depending on the configured TDP (ranging from 12 to 35 Watts).

2.2 kg:
Usually, old laptops with 14-16 inch display-diagonal weigh as much.
3.6 kg:
In former years, this weight was representative for laptops with a 14-16 inch display-diagonal. Nowadays, 17 inch laptops weigh less than that.
77%: This rating is not convincing. The laptop is evaluated below average, this is not really a recommendation for purchase.
