AMD-Update. We have already had Lenovo's IdeaPad 720s in review, and found it to be a lightweight and thin notebook for everyday challenges. The 13-inch notebook is now also available with AMD's Ryzen 5 2500U processor and as a viable alternative to the Intel SKU.

Model: The Lenovo IdeaPad 72 0S-13ARR combines appearance and functionality. Its innovative antenna hinge delivers a stronger, more stable Wi-Fi signal, while advanced processor and graphics capabilities deliver stunning performance. The rimless display provides a sharp, crystal clear image and the metal case offers exceptional ruggedness. The Lenovo IdeaPad 720S-13ARR uses an AMD Ryzen 7 2700U processor, which is also responsible for graphics calculations with its integrated AMD Radeon RX Vega 8. With the AMD Radeon RX Vega 8, users are able to play modern, demanding games fluently at medium detail settings and HD resolution. As for memory, the notebook has 8 GB DDR4 type with 2,400 MHz. The Lenovo 720S-13ARR has a 256 GB SSD storage. The SSD enables applications to launch faster and it allows faster file transfer. Featuring a 13.3-inch 16:9 1,920 x 1,080 pixel display and a redesign that significantly narrows the borders around the screen, the Ideapad 720S provides the visual quality of a portable home theater. There are hardly any tablets in this display size range anymore. For subnotebooks, on the other hand, it is the standard format.
The advantage of subnotebooks is that the entire laptop can be small and therefore easily portable. The smaller display also has the advantage of requiring less power, which further improves battery life and thus mobility. The disadvantage is that reading texts is more strenuous on the eyes. High resolutions are more likely to be found in standard laptops.
