The Lenovo IdeaPad S415 Touch is a lightweight ultra-portable laptop with decent capability and affordability. The laptop comes in silver grey with a black underside. The alloy chassis looks good and weighs just 2.74 kg. The Windows 8.1 laptop packs an AMD A-Series A6-5200 2 GHz quad core processor, 4 GB DDR3 1600 SDRAM with (max. 8 GB), an AMD Radeon HD 8400 and 500 GB hard drive.

This is a pretty good setup especially for the price point. The 14 inch HD Active Matrix TFT Color LCD with LED technology features an aspect ratio of 16:9. The touchscreen offers easy navigation especially with the included latest Microsoft OS variant. Interfaces on the laptop consist of 2 USB 2.0 ports, 1 USB port, HDMI and Headphone/Microphone combo port. The Lenovo IdeaPad S415 Touch also comes with an SD card reader, Bluetooth 4.0 and an island-style keyboard. Network communication is fast with its IEEE 802.11b/g/n wireless LAN and Fast Ethernet technology.

Battery life is decent with a Lithium Ion pack powering the device for up to 5 hours according to Lenovo. The Lenovo IdeaPad S415 Touch will definitely be a good alternative for users looking to be on the go while keeping the budget affordable.

Lenovo: Lenovo ( "Le" as in the English word legend and "novo" (Latin) for new) was founded in 1984 as a Chinese computer trading company. From 2004, the company has been the largest laptop manufacturer in China and got the fourth largest manufacturer worldwide after the acquisition of IBM's PC division in 2005. In addition to desktops and notebooks, the company also produces monitors, projectors, servers, etc.

In 2011, Lenovo acquired the majority of Medion AG, a European computer hardware manufacturer. In 2014, Lenovo took over Motorola Mobility, which gave them a boost in the smartphone market.

From 2014 to 2016 Lenovo's market share in the global notebook market was 20-21%, ranking second behind HP. However, the distance decreased gradually. In the smartphone market, Lenovo did not belong to the Top 5 global manufacturers in 2016.
