Deal | Lenovo IdeaPad 5 16-inch convertible with AMD Ryzen 7 8845HS drops to $619.99
Lenovo’s Labor Day discounts are up and one of the best deals featured on the US online store is the IdeaPad 5 16 convertible powered by AMD’s Hawk Point Ryzen 7 8845HS that is getting a $260 price slash down to just $619.99.
Of course, this is not the OLED model, but the IPS LCD one with an inferior touchscreen. At least it is quite large at 16-inch and it comes with a Digital Pen, but it is mostly subpar with 65% sRGB color gamut, 1920 x 1200 resolution, 60 Hz refresh and 300 nit maximum brightness. Otherwise, the specs are solid enough for the price point with a fast and power efficient 8-core / 16-thread Zen 4 processor plus decent Radeon 780M integrated graphics and a 16 TOPS dedicated NPU. Lenovo supplies 16 GB LPDDR5X-6400 RAM and 1 TB PCIe 4.0 TLC NVMe SSD storage.
Port selection does not feature any USB4 connectors, but it does integrates a microSD card reader, along with 2x USB-C 3.2 Gen 2 full option connectors, 2x USB-A 3.2 Gen 1, an old HDMI 1.4b video output and an audio combo jack. Wireless Internet access is available only through a Wi-Fi 6 + BT 5.3 card. There is also a 1080p webcam with privacy shutter plus 2x 2W speakers with Dolby Audio support.
For a 16-incher, this model is fairly light at 4.19 lbs (1.9 kg) including the 57 Wh battery with Rapid Charge Boost that takes around 2 hours to fully charge. The chassis comes in Luna Grey color, with a profile measuring 0.72 inches (1.84 cm) and has a MIL-STD-810H certification.
