Lava, the India-based manufacturer of mobile devices, has reportedly launched its latest tablet PC named E-Tab Connect. According to the company, this new product is shipped with a pre-installed copy of Google’s Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system and can be purchased for Rs. 9,499 (about $175 / £118).
Apparently, the slate PC is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon S1 MSM7227A SoC with one ARM Cortex-A5 core running at 1GHz and an integrated Adreno 200 GPU. Furthermore, the E-Tab Connect is equipped with a 7-inch capacitive multi-touch display of 800-by-480 pixels native resolution, 512MB of internal DDR3 RAM, G-Senor and two built-in cameras – a 2MP rear-facing shooter and a 0.3MP front-facing web cam for video calls.
Beneath the WVGA panel, the tablet offers 4GB of flash storage (expandable up to 32GB by using the microSD/SDHC card reader slot), Bluetooth 3.0 and Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g radios, GPS receiver and a SIM card slot for 3G connectivity.
Measuring 10mm (≈0.39-inch) thick, the E-Tab Connect packs a 3,000mAh battery that supposedly lasts for around 3 hours on a single charge and comes pre-loaded with apps from Meritnation (math’s study materials), EduKart (online education company), BIGFlix (movies), Hungama (TV) and more.
