LG Fortune 2 hits Cricket Wireless priced at just US$99.99
Back in March 2017, Cricket Wireless added the LG Fortune to its portfolio. This 5-inch handset was far from impressive, as it featured a Qualcomm Snapdragon 210 processor, a very low screen resolution of 480 x 854 pixels, 1.5 GB of memory, and ran Android Marshmallow out of the box. Now, the LG Fortune 2 comes for just US$99.99 but packs noticeable improvements over its predecessor in the essential departments.
Although the LG Fortune 2 has the same 5-inch display size, the resolution has been bumped up to 1,280 x 720 pixels. The processor is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 425, which is accompanied by 2 GB RAM and 16 GB internal storage. The main camera has been improved from 5 MP to 8 MP, but the selfie shooter remains at 5 MP. The list of connectivity features includes Bluetooth 4.2, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, GPS, and micro USB 2.0. The handset runs Android 7.1 Nougat out of the box and its 2,500 mAh battery promises to deliver more than 12 hours of talk time and around 4 hours of video playback.
Just like its predecessor, the LG Fortune 2 only comes in black and can be attached to any rate plan from Cricket Wireless. In the end, this is just another affordable entry-level device that could satisfy the basic needs of many smartphone users on a tight budget. Since there is no LG Fortune 2 review out yet, the video below that shows its predecessor in detail should give you a better idea on what to expect — at least in terms of design and build quality, of course.
