Kovadex X1: 100 W charging station with monitor mount and RGB

The range of charging solutions is already quite extensive, with numerous options available on platforms such as Amazon. The Kovadex X1 stands out by not only offering multiple ports but also doubling as a monitor mount. According to the manufacturer, it supports displays ranging from 17 to 36 inches in size and weighing up to 12 kilograms (26,5 lbs). As expected, the system relies on the VESA standard, requiring monitors to support either a 75×75 or 100×100 mounting pattern. Cables can be neatly managed, and the monitor position is adjustable, which may provide ergonomic advantages. In contrast, the default stands of more affordable monitors often offer limited adjustability, typically restricted to tilt.
An RGB light bar is integrated on the front, featuring over 80 preset lighting modes designed to add a visual accent. However, the Kovadex X1 is not a full docking station, but rather functions primarily as a power supply. It includes three USB Type-C ports and one USB Type-A port, allowing connected devices to be charged with up to 100 watts. Additionally, two magnetic surfaces are available for securely holding compatible accessories. As part of its crowdfunding campaign, the Kovadex X1 is currently priced at $159 for the single-monitor version, while the dual-monitor variant starts at $239. Prospective backers should carefully review the shipping conditions and keep in mind that this is not a conventional pre-order. As with any crowdfunding project, there is a non-negligible financial risk involved.
