The Keychron B1 Pro is not a mechanical keyboard, instead, Keychron uses scissor switches for this model, similar to those used in the Apple Magic Keyboard (approx. 137 euros on Amazon). The color scheme and layout clearly indicate that Keychron designed this model for Mac users. The keyboard includes function keys familiar to MacBook users, that can be used to control volume, music playback, screen brightness, and other functions.
The key labeling shows both a Windows and a macOS legend, although Linux is also officially supported. The keyboard can be connected to up to three devices simultaneously via Bluetooth 5.2; in the marketing material, Keychron shows B1 Pro connected to an iPhone, an iPad, and a Mac. Alternatively, the manufacturer also supplies a 2.4 GHz USB dongle with a polling rate of 1,000 Hz and a USB cable.
The keyboard does not have a backlight, which benefits the battery life, as Keychron advertises a runtime of 1,200 hours of use, which should be enough to recharge the keyboard every eight months if it is used for an average of five hours a day. Keychron's software allows you to configure the function of all keys or assign macros to them.
