KISS to continue touring thanks to “Immortal Digital Avatars”
KISS unveiled their digital avatars to the Madison Square Garden audience during their farewell End of the Road tour on Saturday, December 2. George Lucas' special effects company Industrial Light & Magic (ILM) created the avatars in collaboration with Pophouse Entertainment Group, co-founded by ABBA's Björn Ulvaeus.
This partnership follows their recent collaboration on the ABBA Voyage show in London, allowing fans to attend a full concert featuring the Swedish band's digital avatars.
The creation of KISS' digital avatars involved extensive motion capture sessions, enabling ILM to accurately replicate the band's movements and mannerisms with high precision. The result is a set of hyper-realistic avatars that embody the very essence of KISS, preserving the band's stage presence for future generations of fans to experience.
With this new technology, KISS can now perform virtual concerts simultaneously in multiple locations around the globe, reaching a wider audience than ever before. This opens up new revenue streams for the band and allows them to connect with fans in ways that were previously impossible.
KISS could have a concert in three cities on the same night across three different continents. That’s what you could do with this. - Pophouse CEO Per Sundin
Known for their electrifying live performances over the past fifty years, KISS have sold over 100 million albums worldwide.
