Just don't fall: Unique parkour game offers its core gameplay for free

In Where the Seeds Fall, a mysterious corruption known as "Blight" has poisoned the ground, forcing humanity to seek refuge among the branches of a gigantic World Tree. Players take on the role of a soldier who encounters a child feared by the World Tree's inhabitants as the harbinger of a catastrophe. Defying his orders, he decides to protect the child. Together, the two embark on a dangerous journey back to the Earth's surface.

Descending from the crown of the World Tree essentially forms the core gameplay. Players navigate dangerous ruins, leap across crumbling platforms and sometimes have to take wind currents into account. A rather unusual gameplay mechanic helps them overcome even major drops. Players can collect special flower buds and throw them toward their intended landing spots. Flowers then grow at those locations, cushioning the impact. This makes it possible to survive falls that would otherwise be fatal.

Now free to play
Where the Seeds Fall is scheduled to launch on November 5 at a relatively affordable price of around $10. However, players can already try out the game's core mechanic – the descent – for free. The developers officially announced this on Steam. Interestingly, all movement abilities are available right from the start in the demo. In the full game, these will be unlocked gradually. The developers have also deliberately made the demo section challenging, while the full version is intended to offer a more accessible introduction. The descent should take around 15 to 30 minutes to complete. There's no need for spoiler warnings here, as the free trial doesn't contain any story content. Those interested can also try the game on their Steam Deck, as the title has already received a "Verified" rating ahead of release.
