Fellowship describes itself as a MODA – a “Multiplayer Online Dungeon Adventure” – and aims to carve out a new subgenre within the MMO space. As reported back in February, the game focuses entirely on dungeon runs, deliberately leaving out traditional elements like quests, crafting or open-world exploration.
Instead, players team up in groups of four, following the classic role setup of tank, healer and damage dealers, and dive straight into fast-paced dungeon runs. Each dungeon features procedurally generated layouts, random enemy combinations and boss mechanics that change with every run. The difficulty increases with each successful completion, making coordination and teamwork essential at higher levels.
Between runs, players can upgrade their heroes with collected loot, adjust their skill sets, and gear up for specific dungeon types. Seasonal updates introduce new bosses, mechanics and rewards, keeping the endgame fresh and engaging – without the usual MMO grind.
Early Access starts on October 16
Fellowship is set to launch in Early Access on Steam on October 16, 2025. At launch, players can explore five dungeons and choose from eight playable heroes, including Rime, a frost-wielding ranged fighter; Mara, a deadly assassin; and Vigour, a melee-focused healer.
Early Access is expected to run for around six months, during which the development team at Chief Rebel plans to actively incorporate community feedback and expand the game’s content. According to a recent Steam update, matchmaking was reworked and class balance adjusted during the beta phase. For the official launch, the developers also promise more stable servers, a smoother group system and improved performance.
It’s worth noting that Fellowship avoids the typical MMO payment model and will be available as a one-time purchase. Early Access on Steam is priced at around $25. According to the developers, the full release may come at a higher price. Cosmetic items are planned for the future, but they’ll be purely visual and have no impact on gameplay.
