Most of the times, gamers prefer to stay away from curved monitors, as these do not usually come with responsive panels, and when they do, the prices are quite spicy. JapanNext’s new curved gaming monitor with impressive specs might be just what gamers were looking for, and it comes at a relatively affordable price, compared to similar offerings from Asus, Samsung or AOC.
The JN-35VCG200UWHD is a 35-inch 21:9 monitor that has a maximum resolution of 2,560 x 1,080 (hence the UWHD in the name). With a 180R curvature, the ultra-wide monitor offers the immersive experience gamers are aiming to achieve, and, although it does not have HDR capabilities, it can easily hit 300 nits. What sets this model apart from the competition is the 200 Hz refresh rate that is a considerable step-up from the usual 144 Hz.
This model uses an AMVA panel that allows for 178°/178° viewing angles, plus it has a 3 ms response time GtG. It also features a DisplayPort 1.2 input along with HDMI 2.0 and DVI ports. The 200 Hz refresh rate is achieved through AMD’s FreeSync dynamic refresh compatibility.
Compared to the AOC AGON AG35QCX, which cost around US$1,100 on Amazon right now, the new JapanNext model comes with a more tempting US$808 MSRP , and there even is a special limited offer that allows gamers to buy the model for as low as US$629.
