Intel is expected to launch the Meteor Lake CPUs in the coming months. Per a new leak from Moore’s Law Is Dead, the mobile Meteor Lake lineup will range from low-power MTL-U to 45 W MTL-H chips with up to 14 cores. The leaker also claims that the Xe LPG iGPU featured inside the MTL processors could pack up to 33% more cores than the Iris Xe inside the Raptor Lake CPUs.

While Intel has yet to officially reveal the Meteor Lake CPU lineup, some mobile Meteor Lake chips have started popping up. For instance, we reported that the MSI Prestige 16 laptop revealed at Computex 2023 was running an MTL processor. Similarly, MTL-P processors like the Intel Core Ultra 7 1002H have also leaked giving us a glimpse of the Meteor Lake family. Now, a new leak from Moore’s Law Is Dead has given us some further information regarding the upcoming CPUs including details about the new Xe LPG iGPU said to debut on the MTL chips.

Starting with the CPU lineup, Tom leaked a slide titled “Meteor Lake Preliminary Mobile SKU Lineup” that details MTL-U, MTL-P, and MTL-H processor segmentation. The slide also mentions Raptor Lake Refresh or RPL CPUs with a 55 W PL1 power limit.

Intel Meteor Lake-U

On the low end, we have the MTL-U SKUs with a 7 W PL1 TDP limit. These SKUs range from a 5-core (1 P-core + 4 E-cores) Core i3 CPU that features an iGPU with 3 Xe cores to a 9-core (1 P-core + 8 E-cores) Core i7 chip with an iGPU boasting 4 Xe cores. The slide appears to be old as it still mentions the SKUs with the “Core i” branding and not the new scheme.

The top-end MTL-U processors with a 15 W PL1 appear to top out at a 12-core Core i7 CPU with 4 P-cores + 8 E-cores and 7/8 Xe cores for the iGPU.

Intel Meteor Lake-P and Meteor Lake-H

Moving on to the 28 W MTL-P, the leaked slide shows a Core i5 SKU with “up to” 10 cores (2 P-cores + 8 E-cores) alongside 4/7 Xe cores for the graphics on the bottom and a 14-core (6 P-cores + 8 E-cores) Core i7 with an iGPU featuring 8 Xe cores on the top of this lineup.

Finally, more powerful Meteor Lake-H SKUs could include a 12-core Core i5, a 14-core Core i7, and a 14-core Core i9 CPU. All chips will reportedly have 8 Xe cores in the iGPU and a PL1 power limit of 45 W.

Aside from the MTL lineup, MLID also leaked a slide mentioning a 33% increase in graphics cores for MTL’s Xe LPG iGPU over the Iris Xe inside the Raptor Lake chips. Since the Iris Xe graphics inside the Intel Raptor Lake mobile processors go up to 96 Execution Units (EU), the MTL's Xe LPG iGPU could pack as many as 128 EUs, a 33% increase.

When it comes to the graphics architecture, one of Tom’s sources suggested that the iGPU could be based on a “Next Generation Architecture” that falls “between Alchemist and Battlemage”. In other words, Meteor Lake’s iGPU could be based on a tweaked Alchemist or “Alchemist+” architecture and not the truly next-gen Battlemage.

All in all, it appears that the mobile Meteor Lake chips could not only pack up to 14 cores, but we may also see an iGPU featuring up to 128 EU, the same as the desktop Arc A380 GPU.
