Intel's upcoming Core Ultra 5 135H Meteor Lake processor just showed up on Geekbench. It is unable to catch up with the last-gen Core i5-13500H in single-core performance due to throttled clocks.

Intel's Meteor Lake laptop chips are all set to debut in the coming weeks on December 14. However, only Core i5 and Core i7 SKUs will be available first, with the Core i9 variants slated for a mid-21024 launch. The entry-level Intel Core Ultra 5 135H has now made its Geekbench debut alongside an unknown laptop.

The Meteor Lake processor scores 1,120 and 1,144 in Geekbench 5.4's single-core test across two runs, with a corresponding multi-core score of 9,502 and 9,587, respectively. It operates at a base clock of 3.6 GHz and can boost up to 4.38 GHz. Geekbench reveals that the Core Ultra 5 135H is a 14-core, 18-thread processor, suggesting it has four performance cores, eight efficiency cores and two low-power efficiency cores.

Performance-wise, the Core Ultra 5 135H is miles away from the Raptor Lake-based Core i5-13500H in single-core (1,749 median), although the multi-core performance is a lot closer (10,908). One can chalk this disparity down to the sample being pre-production hardware. Its younger sibling, the Core Ultra 5 125H, scored 2,208 and 11,563 in Geekbench 6.2, so one can assume the Core Ultra 5 135H, and we'll have to wait for a Geekbench 6.2 listing to show up to determine the performance delta between the two.
